"I'd rather be a cyborg than a goddess."

- Donna Haraway

Anne is a second year grad student in UCSB's English department. Looking at both print and digital texts, her research interests explore hospitality in transnational narratives of travel, migration, and labor.

Currently she is a department HASTAC scholar, where she recently co-hosted the "Race, Ethnicity and Diaspora in the Digital Age" forum. She is also currently working with the the UC Transliteracies project, and is an affiliate of the UCSB Literature.Culture.Media Center and the American Cultures and Global Contexts Center.

In addition, she is an active member and researcher of the social networking hospitality site CouchSurfing.org, which has allowed her to travel the Middle East and host world travelers on her futon.
